It's a Family... Tradition.

So Tues. night.... AKA "Fat Tuesday" I made a batch of our traditional Filozes (Fee-Lo-Ish). It's a Portuguese donut that my mom used to make every year before the beginning of Lent. I have started making it for my family and this year was no exception. If you check out my post from last year you'll see Coop wasn't old enough to taste any, but he had some this year and boy did he like it! Who wouldn't with it's fried goodness rolled in sugar. I have added my own flair by rolling mine in sugar, cinnamon sugar and powdered sugar. Coop and I took the goodies over to our friend's house to share.

Coop Started Walking This Week! Hurray!

video

So Cooper has been really close to walking for over a month now, and he finally decided to do it on his own this week. He walks like Frankenstein, with stiff legs and arms out. He's so proud that he's doing it and it won't be long before that mode of transportation becomes faster than crawling.

Valentine's on a Budget!

So this Valentine's Day we had to celebrate on a budget. I made heart shaped sugar cookies earlier in the week. They were fantastic and festive. Then on Sat. morning I made heart shaped pancakes for breakfast. We spent the day together as a family, which included a long walk after Coop's nap. On Sat. evening we put Cooper to bed and made a delicious meal at home. It included NY Steak for Dave and broiled Lobster tail for both of us. I made some baked mashed potatoes, a yummy salad and garlic bread. We shared a bottle of a very inexpensive, but delicious red wine called Menage a Trois (for it's 3 grapes). Then for dessert I made a Banana, Chocolate, Peanut custard and baked it in heart shaped ramekins of course! We ended the evening by watching Get Smart, which we both thought was a funny and entertaining movie. Hope your Valentine's Day was extra special.

It wasn't enough to pull the toys out of the toy box, he had to climb in it. This has now become a regular play time occurance!

Cooper gets dedicated to the Lord!

Today was a special day for our family. Our little guy was dedicatedto the Lord! We went up on stage at the end of service with Brad, and our parents. Brad had our friends and family that were there to support us stand also. He had wonderful insight on the fact that my little man will look for a woman like me someday as his bride, wow what a huge responsibility to be a good example of a mom and wife. And to Dave he reminded him that Coop will look to him for an example even before he looks to Christ. It was so special to have Brad dedicate him in front of the church we call "ours" and to see the faces of people we know are going to be alongside us in our marriage and throughout Coop's life. I am confident that Cooper will one day choose to follow Christ and I will commit to pray for my little man every day. Thank you friends and family for your support!
We love you Jesus and ask that you continue to fill our guy with the overflowing JOY that we witness every day and that he would have an understanding of You at a young age!
