link love

Ok so 2night I went to Mom's Cafe at church and we started talking about blogs. Bakerella came up in conversation. I did not know about this blog and just went to it. Yum-O as Rachel Ray would say. I love to bake and can now not wait to try these cute recipes. Check it out... but be warned you may feel the need to brush your teeth after looking at some of the pics!

His 1st word!

So Cooper said his 1st word last night. DaDa. Boy was Dave proud! We've both been working on Dada and Mama but looks like Dave won this time. Once he discovered he could say it, he does it all the time now. It's so cute and amazing that they just pick things up literally overnight.

Cooper's 1st trip to the Zoo

Cooper had his 1st trip to the Fresno Zoo on June 24. Grandma Quaid and mommy took him. He is still a little to young to really see the animals. His world still consists of the things within his reach. But he loved being outside and seeing all the other children.

His 6 month Dr. Visit

Monday Cooper had his 6 month Dr. visit. He weighs 16lbs now and is 26 in. long. He's still a little low on weight and in the middle on his height. I think he is going to be like his Uncle Bill, tall and thin. He was a trooper through the 3 shots that he got. His poor leg still has a bruise. This picture was taken before the Dr. visit. :>)

Our Crazy Weekend!!!!

So on Saturday we drove all over the mountain, literally. Our morning started out with leaving the house at 10 so a realtor could show it to some potential buyers. We ran errands for an hour before heading up the hill to our friend Rick's house ( at the top of the 4 lanes just above Prather) We visited with all our "mountain friends", had lunch and celebrated our friend Leslie's graduation... again. From there we drove down to the bottom of the 4 lanes (Prather) to a Party celebrating the life of our family friend "Grandpa" Bill. There we saw the rest of our "mountain friends" Now I must also mention that during all these parties the temperature has reached over 100 degrees. So we finally decide it's time to get Cooper out of the heat and we head up to Shaver, where Papa and Grandma Lebda have rented a cute little cabin for the weekend. The cabin had a huge deck where we spent the majority of our time. Cooper hung out in his Pack N Play on the patio with the rest of the fam. I think he was just excited to stretch out and be out of the heat. We spent the night and got up Sunday with the intentions of driving out to Kerman for my cousin's birthday party. Well needless to say by the time we got to Clovis Coop had had it and he was letting us know. So we went home and he took a 4 hour nap on Sunday afternoon. I think it must have been nice to be back in his own bed! What a weekend.

Lake Day #2

On Friday Cooper and I headed up to Shaver again for an afternoon at the lake. We were there celebrating our friend Leslie's College Graduation. It was such a beautiful afternoon of hanging out. I got to lay out for a while and just visit with friends while Coop took his nap on the boat. I took him in the cold water and he actually did good. I think our limbs just got numb after a couple of minutes in the melted snow. He was hanging on pretty tight to me but he let me put him in the lake a couple of times. I think afternoons at Shaver have to be some of my favorite times and hopefully someday they will be Cooper's too!

Coop's Girlfriend Ashley

On Thurs. Coop and I went over to Becca's so he could play with his girlfriend Ashley. She was so cute just staring at him and he was just interested in her cool toys... typical boy! It's so fun to see them interact and get excited about another baby.

Happy Father's Day!

So yesterday Dave celebrated his 1st Father's Day. My parents came over in the morning for coffee. My mom's present to Dave was very cute.... he got a baseball hat and Cooper got a matching one... each year on Father's Day they are to take their pic in it together... then when Cooper is 18 his hat will finally fit him! So they took they're 1st pic in them yesterday. As you can see Cooper has a long way to go before his fits. Dave led worship at PC3 yesterday and he did an awesome job I might add. I kept Cooper in the service with me so he could hear his daddy sing. Yesterday afternoon we had an early dinner at Claim Jumpers and then browsed through camping trailers at Dan Gamel's. It was a nice Father's Day.

Cooper's 1st Lake Trip!

So on Friday I took Cooper up to Shaver for his 1st lake experience. (His 1st trip was supposed to be Memorial Day, but it was cold and rainy). My parents and Cooper and I met up at the dock with my long time friend Kylee, her 3 kids and her parents. We went out on their boat. Poor Coop is so small, his life jacket literally swallowed him up. He was such a trooper as we rode across the lake. He certainly didn't enjoy the life jacket, but he tolerated it for safety's sake. Once we got to the beach we hung out all afternoon. It was a perfect day to get out of the Fresno heat and spend time with old friends.

I love the crack up kid!

So this afternoon Cooper and I went over to Lori's and hung out with her and the boys. It was so nice to catch up. I needed girlfriend time. When we got home Cooper was delerious, I think. He didn't take a nap this afternoon so I was making him laugh. I love to hear his little laugh. It's getting so fun. I can play peek a boo and scare him and he thinks it's so funny! Hope you enjoy this too.

Our Weekend Away

Friday was our 1st overnight trip without Cooper. Dave and I went to Bass Lake and spent the night at a B & B called the Hounds Tooth Inn. We stayed in the same room we had on our wedding night! We ate dinner at Duceys and looked out over the lake. On Sat. we got up and enjoyed our breakfast, got Starbuck's in Oakhurst and headed into Yosemite with everyone else in the state of California. We didn't get into the valley until the afternoon so we had trouble finding parking. Once we finally found a place to park, we loaded up our picnic lunch in our backpacks and hiked up to the top of Vernal Falls. They call it the mist trail, but we got drenched! It was such a beautiful hike. I found myself not only trying to have the endurance to hike all the stairs, but also battling the fear of heights as we headed up the soaking wet rock staircase. But we made it and it felt good to get to the top. Cooper did great and had fun spending the night with his Grandma and Papa Quaid. It was a great weekend for all of us

So sleepy

Yesterday evening Cooper was so crabby and sleepy. He just didn't really nap like he should have, so I took him outside and rocked on our patio swing. It was such a nice evening with the breeze blowing and he finally fell asleep and took a little nap. But as I was sitting there it started... the noise. Horns honking, dogs barking, and the neighbor next door started mowing his lawn. It just confirmed to me that I am not a city girl. I am ready to sit on my porch swing and just enjoy the peace and quiet of nature.... some day!

In Memory of my brother Billy!

This morning Coop and I drove out to the cemetary to take a baloon to his uncle Bill's grave. We lost him 13 years ago today. I like to keep happy memories alive of my brother, but today I was sad driving home thinking that Cooper won't ever meet him. We'll certainly share stories and memories and there are times that I see my brother's face in Cooper. Coop is blessed to have another uncle Bill. Dave's brother Bill reminds me of my brother so much. Their name,William, means protector and that is what I picture when I think of both of our brothers. My brother always took care of me, and I see that same character in Dave's brother. So today I miss my brother but am thankful for the years I shared with him and learned from him.

Farmer's Market Friday Night

Friday night we headed out to Clovis for the Farmer's Market. It was a perfect evening to enjoy old town Clovis. We hung out with Bill & Michelle and Jarod & Marissa and their little guy Ty. Ty is almost exactly 1 month younger than Cooper. Coop had fun listening to the music and taking in all the activity around him!
