1st trip to Monterey

This weekend was Cooper's 1st road trip to Monterey to visit Grandma and Papa Lebda! He did awesome. He slept the whole car ride and he visited with the whole family. We took him down Cannery Row even though the weather wasn't that great. On Sunday Grandma and Papa got to show him off to all of their friends at church. It was a fun weekend!

Poor Baby

Cooper got his shots today. It's the 1st round of many vacinations. Such a scary thing to pump our little baby full of so many vacinations, but it's one of those things Iv'e just had to hand over to God and know He'll protect his little body. He did good, he slept all day and then this afternoon he was really upset. He finally started feeling like himself this evening and he hung out with mom and dad and watched American Idol.
He is now 10lbs 8oz and 23". He's still a little under-weight but gaining like a healthy boy should.

Prayer Request!

So Dave and I found the perfect house for us to make our move to the foothills! It doesn't quite look like this right now because it's been on the market for 2 years and needs a little TLC on the outside. But we got to look on the inside last Sat. and it's just perfect for us. It sits on 5 acres and has great views of Prather and the valley. I just pictured Cooper playing and building forts like Bill and I used to do. The seller is very motivated and we can get a great deal on it if we sell our house soon. So I am asking that my loyal blog readers say a little prayer for us. Just that everything would work out just right. If it's meant to be that we would sell our house and be able to get this house for a price we can afford.... and if it doesn't work out with this house that we would be patient in finding the right one.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day. Yes my man remembered! He brought home flowers and baloons. I needed it today. Cooper didn't have a very good day. Despite his crankiness he was happy this morning when I dressed him in his special Valentine's outfit. He was my Stud Muffin today. This afternoon we ventured out to visit with some of my "Zena's" girlfriends. It was a fun afternoon of catching up. I miss seeing those girls everyday. It warms my heart to know everyone is still doing well. Tonight Cooper was my date (although he wasn't much fun). Dave went to Northpointe for worship practice and I was stuck at home eating burritos and watching Deal or No Deal. Oh well we get to go on a date on Sat. night!!!!

Baby Bjourn

Often times when Cooper is fussy I can put him in the baby carrier and walk around and he loves it. I get my house clean and laundry done because my hands are free and he gets to move around the house and hang out with mom! If I stop to check my email or do something in one place he fusses until I am moving again. Then sure enough some time later he'll have fallen asleep.

Yay for the new blog format!

So I hope you've noticed I figured out how to add a slideshow and music to my blog. It's so exciting, I have been trying to figure out the slideshow all week and finally figured it out today. It's so easy to do! Then I found the playlist on another blog and was excited to add that too. Oh the little things in life that excite me! It could also be that I am all hopped up on doughnuts and coffee. We took Cooper for a walk this morning down to the local doughnut shop.

The Cheesy Smile Caught on Camera

Yes I finally caught the cheesy smile on Camera!

Tonight I made Fillozes (pronounced fee-lo-ish). It's a portuguese doughnut. You make the yeast dough and then fry it and roll it in sugar. It's tradition to make it on Fat Tues, the Tues before Lent starts. My mom made it every year and my brother and I always looked forward to it. I have made it several times since Dave and I have been married. Most of the early attempts I cheated and used biscuits. But last year I got the family recipe and made the dough in the bread maker. It turned out just like I remember. So we started our family tradition with Cooper this year. Even though he couldn't have any Dave and I enjoyed it. I even got creative and rolled some in powdered sugar and some in Cinnamon sugar. Such delicious deep fried sweetness!

The Smile Caught on Tape!

So we had a "normal" baby tonight and Dave and I just ate it up. Cooper finished eating and was wide awake and happy. This is a rare occurance these days. We took him upstairs to the changing table (his favorite place) and he was smiling so big we had to get it on the camera. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

The Changing Table

For some reason Cooper is happiest on his changing table? He'll be all smiles and we'll take him downstairs and he starts crying. So today I brought a chair into his room and sat next to the changing table while he played. These days I am just doing whatever I can to keep him from crying while he's awake. We just don't know what's wrong with him? I pray that he grows out of it in a month like everyone says. I don't think I can handle an unhappy baby for much longer!

Our Superbowl Party

This was our Superbowl Party. Since the whole fam was sick we decided to keep our germs to ourselves. So I made some appetizers and we had our own Superbowl Party at home.

It's Official

Yes it's official! Our entire household is officially sick! Dave and I feel horrible and even though Coop is getting better he's still not feeling good either. No fun. Despite his condition I did get a cute picture of him yesterday in a little sleeper gown that his great aunt Pat got him. Pup Pup Horray!!!

Getting Better

Well it's been a long week of runny noses, coughing, and lots of puke yesterday but I think he is on the up-hill side of this cold. Funny thing is now Dave and I are getting sick! Dave's going to the Dr. today to make sure he doesn't have strep throat. It's no fun but I guess it's that time of year.
